Ph.D. in Counseling and Supervision
with an Emphasis on Addiction and Rural/Regional Mental Health Treatment
Program Description
Tennessee Tech is excited to announce a new Ph.D. program in Counseling and Supervision. The program seeks to prepare and enhance students’ capacity for skill development and critical thinking as they go on to become clinicians, supervisors, educators, advocates, scholars, leaders, and program evaluators within the counseling profession.
- Faculty emphasize a dynamic and collaborative learning environment, leading students to actualize their potential through an infusion of scholarship and real-world problem solving.
- Through meeting this goal, the program also makes an impact within our region by helping to meet the mental health and addiction treatment needs in the community.
- The program consists of a minimum of 48 hours and includes experiential components that contains a 100-hour clinical practicum, 600-hour internship, and dissertation research (i.e., aligns with the CACREP 2016 standards).The program will start this Fall 2020 and applications are currently being accepted.
