TLPCA Diversity Committee would like to convey our despair over the recent killing of George Floyd of Minneapolis, MN. Though one of the most recent, we know that this incident is one of many through years and years of oppression and systemic violence and racism. As counselors, it is extremely painful to hear someone calling for help and to have no recourse to be able to help them. We stand in support of and solidarity with our Black and African-American members and clients as we all mourn the needless loss of another Black life. The TLPCA Diversity Committee will continue to investigate and communicate ways in which we can help the criminal justice system hold truth and accountability to the communities they serve.
