The Day Reporting Center (DRC) Treatment Coordinator counsels adult non-violent felony offenders who have been sentenced to the Community Corrections Day Reporting Center (DRC). Job duties with this position include alcohol and drug treatment for offenders who meet the qualifications for the Day Reporting Center. The DRC Treatment Coordinator will conduct Addiction Severity Index/Addiction Society of Addiction Medicine assessments on offenders sentenced to the Day Reporting Center. The DRC Treatment Coordinator will oversee all treatment classes within the DRC.

Essential Functions

1. Counsels offenders relating to alcohol and drug treatment and mental health.
2. Evaluates offender progress of accomplished contract objectives; recommends measurable standards to correct identified problems and deficiencies.
3. Prepares, maintains and documents required reporting and records management.
4. Attends and participates in staff meetings, team meetings, conferences and in-service training.
5. Instructs and participates in training activities for offenders.
6. Develops treatment placement options for offenders.
7. Maintains interaction with criminal justice system and other agencies to coordinate and identify applicable resources.
8. Professional phone skill capability.
9. Performs related job duties as required.
10. Performs one-on-one treatment with offenders sentenced to the Day Reporting Center at a minimum of once per month.
Competencies
1. Knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques of criminal justice and corrections casework. Knowledge of service area social services and community services agencies.
2. Communication Proficiency – ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly both in oral and written communications.
3. Client-offender focus – develops offender specific counseling plans, evaluate offender situations incorporating high level offender focused decision making skills.
4. Collaboration Skills – establishes and maintains effective collaboration with the criminal justice system, the public and the community.
5. Organizational skills are a must – maintains organized filing system, possesses general knowledge and experience with office equipment along with detail orientated abilities.
6. Technical Capacity – high level computer skills and computer program knowledge along with computer application(s) experience including; Word, Excel and Outlook.
7. Flexibility – works productively, prioritizes and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position oversees the Treatment Counselor position that assists with the Day Reporting Center operations.

Must be able to bend down for short periods of time, ability to climb steps or stairs. This position requires the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.

Required Education and Experience
1. Master’s degree
2. Possess a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, MHSP), License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Psychologist license.

1. Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record required.
2. Pre-employment background check.
