I have recently come across this topic being debated and want to know where things stand. I have reviewed our laws and haven’t seen a number or any limits on how many supervisees a clinical supervisor can have. Is there any new information out there or new laws coming about soon?
The rules say you may only have eight supervises in a supervision group. I have not seen any other restrictions for individual supervision. However, it is probably prudent to limit your individual supervisees to a reasonable number. I carry about 7-8 max. Of course, I have other duties at my agency.
I have seen limits in another state (PA) for how many a supervisor could have. I haven’t seen a limit in TN other than no more than 8 in one supervision group.
