New 10-Week Group Therapy Course Starting May 6th, 2026
Course Title: Fundamental Principles of Modern Analytic Group Therapy

I’m excited to announce a new 10-week course that was designed to help therapists develop and sharpen their group therapy skills. You do not have to lead groups to participate! Our course is open to anyone interested in learning more about group process.
Each ninety-minute session will include didactic instruction, group process, and time for questions and discussion. We will read two articles per week on various theoretical concepts and practical techniques. We chose to include the topics that have proven most useful to us as we’ve developed our own group leadership skills. Topics include Getting Started with a New Group, Basic Techniques, Transference and Countertransference, Affect Education, The Role of Contact, Regression, Mentalization & Epistemic Trust, Attachment and Mattering, Challenges in Group, and The Group Therapist’s Professional Ego.
