The Master’s in Counseling program at Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, TN) is
looking for a Visiting Professor (Temporary, one-year position) to teach four classes in the
fall and four classes in the spring. A background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is
preferred. Our classes are held on-ground from 4:30-7:30 PM Mondays-Thursdays.
This fall, our visiting professor will most likely teach:
1.COUN 6010: Ethical, Legal, and Prof.
2.COUN 5993: Addiction Counseling
3.COUN 5190: Psychological Assessment & Appraisal
4.And one other class (potentially Theories)
During the spring, this individual will most likely teach:
1.COUN 5080: Diagnosis and Psychopathology
2.COUN 5430: Group Theories and Techniques
3.COUN 5440: Counseling Diverse Populations
4.And one other class
This position includes insurance benefits and professional development funds. All faculty
in the department (including this position) receive up to $1,500.00 for professional
development that can be used to support conference travel and other trainings. The
official fall start date is July 31.
We will most likely have a tenure-track position in the 2027-2028 academic year, and the
2026-2027 visiting professor is welcome to apply to the tenure-track position once that
position is posted.
