Summary of Duties:
• Performs client assessments to determine the level of addiction
• Develops and implements treatment and aftercare plans for the client and/or family
• Provides client and family education about addiction, the recovery phase and relapse prevention techniques
• Develops, implements, and coordinates educational groups and therapy programming
• Demonstrates clinical knowledge and expertise in therapeutic approaches
• Performs all aspects of client care in an environment that optimizes client safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
• Communicates with Physicians and other employees in a clear and concise manner while maintaining a good working relationship with them
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required, Master’s Degree preferred.
• A licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, LADAC, LMSW or LCSW preferred
• Graduate of an accredited college or university
• 2 years of training and/or clinical experience in substance abuse counseling including family counseling preferred
• Familiar with local, state and federal regulations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Outlook and Electronic Medical Records
