Caregiving hurts. Self-care and good boundaries are vital, but by themselves they cannot save us from the wounds of our work. It’s time to learn a better roadmap to health for both ourselves and our clients. In this interactive presentation, you will gain an introductory understanding of the five core compassion fatigue resiliency skills. Then, together we will practice diving deeper into the core principle of intentionality.
Objectives:
- To define and recognize symptoms, risk factors and the professional maturation trajectory of compassion fatigue, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress
- To gain an introductory understanding of each of the five core compassion fatigue resiliency skills
- To practice skill-building with the intentionality resiliency skill

Amanda Roman, LPC-MHSP is a trauma therapist who advocates for improving professional vitality and compassion satisfaction in the helping professions.
