The primary function of this position is to provide school based therapy services within 4 elementary schools in Jefferson County, TN. This individual will spend the majority of their time within the schools and with students, but may at times engage with the family as a whole or provide services in a community setting.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide individual/family/couples/group counseling services utilizing evidence based practices.
Provide education regarding behavioral health needs to staff and families as needed.
Engage children, individuals, and families in therapeutic services.
Appropriately assess and diagnose identified client, per insurance requirements.
Develop appropriate treatment plans for identified client(s).
Maintain timely session and billing documentation.
Cooperate with ABHS owners to identify ongoing needs for behavioral health services and make appropriate recommendations for programming that may best support the identified children/families.
Minimum Requirements: LPC-eligible Master’s in Counseling, MSW, or related discipline. LPC-MHSP or related licensure is preferred. Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds. Proficiency in Microsoft OFFICE, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience working in a medical and/or clinical setting preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting professional knowledge and demeanor in all forms of communication. Ability to build strong rapport with children, adolescents, and families quickly. Capacity to work individually and in family context. Ability to remain calm and effectively manage crisis situations. Capacity to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team. Capability to collect data and engage in appropriate feedback.
