Counseling students with personal, career, social and educational concerns. Provide crisis prevention/intervention services. Develop and present educational programs/workshops applicable to the needs of the university students, faculty, and staff. Assist in the development and supervision of the Counseling Center’s graduate level intern/practicum student program. In the absence of the director, serves as representative to the Student Affairs Office and is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of the Counseling Center.

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited institution. Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service designation, Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychiatrist, or Licensed Psychologist with Health Service Provider designation. Candidate must be licensed in the State of Tennessee, or eligible for licensure within six (6) months. Minimum of five (5) years post licensure counseling experience. Minimum of two (2) years experience as the clinical supervisor of graduate level interns/practicum students. Experience in professional counseling of young adults/late adolescents. Experience in program development and evaluation within a clinical environment. Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate personally and professionally with a diverse student body, with university staff, and with other members of the university community.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in counseling college students. Experience in the treatment of anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and sexual abuse issues.
Work Hours
M-F 8-4:30pm
Occasional weekend and evening activities/emergencies possible
