During this event, Dr. Davis will discuss barriers to effective suicide assessment and safety planning. Participants will learn skills to manage their own emotional dysregulation and techniques to work with high-risk clients that do not meet criteria for hospitalization. Ethical and legal considerations and counselor liability will be reviewed. Finally, participants will learn about risk factors, protective factors, crisis assessment techniques, and how to develop safety plans.
