Neighborhood Health has an opening for a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) in Lebanon and Nashville TN. LPC-MHSP licensure is required. Neighborhood Health’s mission is to improve the health of our community by eliminating barriers to care and to serve as a healthcare home without regard to ability to pay. We provide care to uninsured, underinsured, and insured patients across the lifespan.
The BHC works closely with primary care providers and other medical staff to ensure comprehensive, holistic care of patients by addressing mental health needs, lifestyle and behavior, and the bidirectional relationship between physical and mental health. The interdisciplinary primary care team includes family medicine providers, women’s health providers, dental providers, patient navigators, psychiatric providers, chronic disease case managers and support staff. The BHC utilizes a wide range of clinical skills to provide brief (i.e. 15-20 minutes in duration), short-term, solution-based interventions. Strenghts that are well suited to the role of BHC are: directiveness, clinical assessment (including crisis evaluation), adaptability, use of screening tools, case conceptulization, concurrent documentation, SMART goal setting, motivational interviewing, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
