Where Hope and Healing Begin
Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center (SHCAC) is a nonprofit dedicated to serving children who are victims of severe neglect, physical and sexual abuse. Through prevention, education, intervention, and treatment, we work to restore hope and help children and families heal.
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Therapist to join our team. This role is central to our mission—providing trauma-focused therapy to child victims and their non-offending caregivers in Tennessee’s 4th Judicial District (Cocke, Grainger, Jefferson, and Sevier counties).

What You’ll Do
• Provide individual and family therapy using evidence-based, trauma-focused approaches (TF-CBT, EMDR, play/art therapy, etc.).
• Complete intakes, assessments, evaluations, and treatment planning tailored to each child and family.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with state and SHCAC standards.
• Collaborate with the Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT) and consult with partner agencies.
• Participate in case consultations, peer reviews, and legal/judicial proceedings as needed.
• Offer training, education, and outreach to community partners.
• Collect and report data to support program compliance and funding requirements.

What We Offer
• Salary: $52,000 – 55,000 annually
• Schedule: 37.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
• Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance; competitive retirement plan; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays

What We’re Looking For
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field
• Licensed mental health professional (LPC, LPC, LMFT preferred) or license-eligible and under supervision with relevant experience
• At least 2 years of clinical experience working with children and families (preferred)
• Specialized training/experience in child abuse, trauma, TF-CBT, EMDR, or play therapy (preferred)
• Strong oral and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; social media familiarity a plus
• Must maintain personal professional liability insurance
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean background check
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; passion for serving children and families in crisis
