The presenter will utilize lectures, discussions, videos, and case studies to support the learning objectives and facilitate learning.
Learning Objectives:
Identify 3 signs that a women has suffered abuse
Describe the 3 rungs of the poly-vagal ladder
List 4 ways the nervous system reacts to threats
Discuss the concepts of gaslighting and double binds
Apply 3 specific interventions to aid in abuse recovery

About the Presenter: Tara Forrest Greene, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the owner of Forrest Counseling Services, LLC. She is passionate about helping adults and children heal from relational trauma and move toward healthy relationships, with a speciality in supporting women recovering from domestic abuse as well as children and teens facing trauma or anxiety. She is certified in EMDR, Trauma Play, SSP, and Prepare/Enrich, and trained in Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy and TF-CBT, using a polyvagal-informed lens throughout her work. Her first priority is creating a safe, compassionate environment that supports healing, self-understanding, and empowerment. Tara uses an integrative, collaborative approach, adapting to each client’s needs and fostering a sense of agency throughout their therapy process.
