As part of Parthenon Pavilion’s “Parthenon Symposium” series, join us as our team of adolescent behavioral health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychiatry residents presents on current trends in adolescent practice and research. Topics to be addressed include determining appropriate levels of care, current trends and research on medication use with adolescents, as well as digital and social media wellness as it pertains to mental health in youth.

Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to identify the different levels of care available for adolescents, as well as specific objective and subjective data to help determine levels of care.
  • Participants will learn current trends and research on medication use with adolescents in behavioral health
  • Participants will learn about digital and social media wellness as it pertains to the adolescent population

About the Speaker

Brian Bradford, DO, ABPN certified adult psychiatry, ABPN certified child and adolescent psychiatry

Dr. Brian Bradford, DO, is an attending psychiatrist specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He leads clinical education for psychiatry residents, with a particular focus on neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD, and diagnostic formulation. Dr. Bradford oversees adolescent inpatient programming and facilitates case-based didactics designed to build core competencies for early-career psychiatrists.

Katherine Trapani, MD

Katherine Beuter Trapani is a psychiatry resident at HCA Healthcare TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, having earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2024 following a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Vanderbilt University. Her clinical interests are informed by prior work as a Registered Behavioral Technician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she provided intensive applied behavioral analysis therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder, as well as by extensive volunteer service with Clinica Esperanza, a nonprofit community clinic serving the Memphis Hispanic community. Future career goals include a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship; after which, she hopes to provide early intervention, family-based care to diverse youth. She is actively engaged in research, collaborating on projects in child and adolescent psychiatry, and has contributed to peer‑reviewed publications examining parent-focused inpatient interventions and patient–provider communication around chronic illness and prognosis. Katherine has held multiple leadership roles, including psychiatry representative for a curriculum collaboration between HCA TriStar GME and Belmont School of Medicine, co-president of her residency book club, and referrals manager and lab manager at Clinica Esperanza. Across her training, work, and service, she has demonstrated a sustained commitment to patient-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and mentoring peers and trainees in both clinical and community settings. In her free time, Katherine enjoys gardening, watching documentaries and college football, and hiking.

Benjamin Minor, MD

Benjamin Minor, MD, is a third-year psychiatry resident at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine in 2023. Dr. Minor’s clinical interests include intersection of medication management with psychotherapy, psychodynamic theory, psychosis subtypes, and the history of psychiatry.

I’m a PGY-1 Psychiatry resident. I’m from Huntsville, Alabama! I have an older brother and sister. I went to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for college. For medical school, I went to Howard University. I love to crochet, bake, fish, watch movies, and hang out with friends!
