The 30-Day Blackout Intervention targets behavioral problems in children that are caused by excess screen time. The overabundance of screen time prevents children from developing meaningful connections in their relationships. Created within an experiential, family-systems framework, The 30-Day Blackout Intervention incorporates elements of nervous system regulation, attachment-focused family play therapy, Theraplay, nature-based expressive arts techniques and child-centered play therapy to address behavioral problems, trauma, and attachment injuries, while strengthening the family system.
Workshop Objectives
- Following this presentation, participants will be able to describe how attachment injuries occur within the parent-child relationship and the methods to help repair and strengthen attachment.
- Following the presentation, participants will be able to identify and implement five attachment-based play therapy activities to foster connection in the parent-child relationship.
- Following the presentation, participants will be able to implement the 30-Day Blackout Intervention with their clients in family-based play therapy sessions.
