This workshop will introduce participants to the fascinating journey of psychedelic therapy from its historic roots to its current resurgence. Participants will gain a general understanding of the latest research, therapeutic frameworks, and ethical considerations in this evolving field. Emphasizing responsible preparation and integration, this workshop will equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to begin to navigate the future of psychedelic-assisted therapies and their potential impact on mental health care.
Objectives:

Participants will be able to describe the historical context and evolution of psychedelics, including its use in ancient cultures, the rise and fall of research, and the recent resurgence of interest in the field.

Participants will have a better understanding of the current scientific research on the efficacy and safety of psychedelic therapy for various mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders.

Participants will be able to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with the integration of psychedelic-assisted therapy into mainstream mental health care, including stigma reduction, training requirements, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
