ECT, TMS, KAP – oh my! Neuromodulation, encompassing a variety of techniques that alter neural activity through targeted interventions, offers promising therapeutic options for neurologic and psychiatric disorders. In this 3 hour CE, participants will learn about current practices of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), including dispelling myths about these practices. When are these treatments used, and who can they help? Join us for some shocking discoveries!
Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify current uses of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), including how it works and the types of severe mental health conditions with which the treatment is effective.
- Participants will be able to identify current uses of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), including how it works and the types of severe mental health conditions with which the treatment is effective.
- Participants will learn how psychedelic-assisted care occurs in psychotherapy by identifying mental health issues that can be treated with Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
