This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of dissociative identity disorder (DID) and related dissociative disorders, emphasizing recent advances in research, diagnosis, and treatment. Participants will explore the clinical features, developmental origins, and epidemiology of DID, learn to recognize diagnostic challenges and differential diagnoses, and gain practical knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including the use of specialized modalities such as hypnosis and EMDR. Designed for mental health professionals, the workshop combines didactic teaching with interactive discussion to enhance clinical competency and confidence in working with this complex population.
Objectives:

The learner will be able to identify the core clinical features and developmental origins of dissociative identity disorder (DID) and related dissociative disorders.

The learner will recognize the challenges in diagnosing DID, including differential diagnosis, common comorbidities, and the use of specialized assessment tools.

The learner will be able to summarize effective treatment approaches and therapeutic principles for DID, including sequenced interventions and the role of specialized modalities such as hypnosis and EMDR.
About the Speaker
Cinda Gee, LPC/MHSP
As a veteran with over 23 years of service in the United States Air Force, Cinda Gee gained extensive training and experience in leadership, management, and business. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Avionics Systems Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. Cinda has been a psychotherapist for 18 years, first serving 12 years as a therapist and clinical program manager for a 19-county victims’ service agency, specializing in working with victims of domestic and sexual violence. Subsequently, in private practice, Cinda has passionately worked with adults suffering from PTSD and C-PTSD, including survivors of childhood abuse, adult violence, veterans, first responders, medical personnel, life-threatening illnesses, and religious trauma. Her expertise extends to individuals struggling with dissociation/DID, narcissism, Adult ADHD, High Functioning Autism, OCD, Bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, anger, profound grief, divorce, family issues, depression, anxiety, job issues, and other life challenges. As a survivor of severe childhood abuse herself, she firmly believes in the possibility of healing and is committed to helping individuals find the support they need.
