In this session we will explore steps to create a unified profession with advocacy powers that promotes growth of our profession. By continuing to stay on this current pathway in counseling leadership, we will not solve problems but create challenges that will stifle creative thought and thinking. In order to make changes, we must begin to reframe how we look at the counseling profession holistically and create an identity that will expand the profession.

Objectives:

  • By the end of this presentation the participants will be able to identify the various roles of a counselor.
  • The participants will be able to discuss the need for a unified identity.
  • The participants will understand how to explore steps to create a unified voice through advocacy.
