Hi everyone,

I am a doctoral learner at Capella University in the School of Counseling Education and Supervision. I am conducting this research to complete my degree.

I want to learn about how professional counselors who have taken a course during their graduate program specific to death, dying and bereavement in their masters’ program perceive their competency regarding working with individuals who experience any death related issues, such as bereavement and grief, compared with those who have not taken a course. I’d also like to see if culture, specifically ethnicity, has an impact on their perceived competency. The purpose is to see how important death education may be in CACREP accredited programs regarding treatment in the field.

You can participate in the study if you:

Have a master’s degree in a CACREP or equivalent program.
Are a currently licensed professional counselor or are pursing licensure as a post graduate.
Are currently practicing.
Age 18-50

You are not eligible to participate if you:

Have attended post graduate professional development specific to death education or treatment of bereavement.
