🌿 New Offering Coming January 2027! 🌿
Are you a newly licensed therapist dreaming about starting your own private practice, but feeling unsure where to begin?
You’re not alone. Most grad schools don’t teach this.
Starting a private practice can feel exciting, overwhelming, and full of questions:
How do I get clients?
What systems do I need?
How do I set my fees?
What about insurance, paperwork, marketing, boundaries, and confidence?
Here is what no one tells you: Starting a private practice, or any business, asks something different of you than just being a good therapist.
It asks you to take small and medium-sized calculated, informed risks.
Not reckless risks.
Not “burn it all down and hope for the best” risks.
But the kind of risks that come with building something of your own.
Choosing a niche instead of trying to appeal to everyone.
Setting a fee that lets you pay your bills and save for the future.
Putting your name out there.
Telling people what you offer.
Allowing yourself to be seen.
Making decisions that support the way you want to do therapy
And for some therapists, this is where the nervous system says:
This isn’t safe.
I can’t do that.
What if I fail?
What if I choose wrong?
What if people judge me?
So even though you may think you’re “just stuck on the details,” something deeper may be happening.
Your body may be shutting down from the overwhelm of these unfamiliar risks.
That doesn’t mean you’re not cut out for private practice.
It doesn’t mean you’re not capable.
It doesn’t mean you need to wait until you feel completely confident.
It may simply mean you need support, structure, encouragement, and a community that helps your nervous system learn:
I can do hard things.
I can take wise risks.
I can build this one step at a time.
I can grow with the support of my community.
That’s part of why I founded the Elevated Growth Collective, and now I’m adding a new offering within it, called Butterfly, A Private Practice Creation Cohort for licensed therapists who are ready to build a practice with more clarity, confidence, and support. You do not have to be a member of the Elevated Growth Collective to join Butterfly: A Private Practice Creation Cohort, but you might really want to before it’s done!
This group will be limited to 8 therapists and will begin in January 2027.
If you’re interested in joining the cohort, email me now at Amanda@InwardOnwardTherapy.com Just let me know that you want to become a Butterfly🦋
🌿 Let’s build your private practice with clarity, confidence, and community.
