Generations Health Association, Inc. in Cookeville, TN is seeking a full-time, compassionate and dedicated counselor to provide individual and family counseling services to diverse clientele experiencing a variety of mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, maintain clinical documentation, and support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals. Licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) is preferred. Strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and a commitment to client-centered care are essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1) Ability to observe, assesses, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
2) Knowledge and understanding of mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards.
3) Knowledge of psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation.
4) Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
5) Skill in preparing and maintaining member’s records.
6) Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient-care services in behavioral health.
7) Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
8) Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
9) Knowledge of community mental health resources.
10) Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
11) Knowledge of student outreach services and activities.
12) Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
13) Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
14) Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications.
15) Ability to create, composes, and edits written material.
16) Knowledge of the principles and methods of social and vocational rehabilitation as they relate to mental health clinical practices.
17) Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients’ rights.
18) Ability to lead and train staff and/or peers.
19) Knowledge of community support services and funding agencies.
20) Knowledge of community health care and vocational services.
Salary Range:
$55,000.00 – $65,000.00/year
Shift:
Monday-Friday 8:00A-5:00P with holidays off
