Independent Clinician Opportunity
Licensed Mental Health Therapist (1099)
Build your practice without building all the infrastructure.
Morristown, Tennessee
Hybrid / in-person options
Flexible caseload
True U Counseling Group is seeking an independently licensed Tennessee therapist who wants the autonomy of private practice with the support of an established group setting. We provide furnished office space, referrals, billing and administrative infrastructure so you can focus on excellent clinical care and develop a caseload that fits your professional goals.
What you will receive
The support and terms we provide so you can focus on clinical care and grow a caseload that fits your goals.
60% of collected professional revenue
Paid twice monthly. You keep the majority of what your clinical work collects.
Furnished private office
A private, furnished office in Morristown, Tennessee — no independent office rent to manage.
Billing, EHR & credentialing support
Billing and claims follow-up, EHR access, and credentialing support so you can focus on clinical care.
Practice-generated referrals
Referrals from the practice, with no guarantee or requirement to accept every referral.
Schedule & caseload autonomy
You control your schedule, availability, and the caseload you accept.
Collaborative, inclusive environment
A collaborative, inclusive environment that values ethical and affirming care.
Nonexclusive contractor relationship
Clinicians may maintain other professional work outside the practice.
The opportunity
This role is well suited to a clinician who wants to grow an in-person or hybrid caseload without independently managing office rent, payer enrollment, claims, and practice technology.
A starting availability of approximately two days or 12–15 appointment slots per week is preferred, but the contractor determines the schedule and caseload accepted.
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Tennessee license permitting independent clinical practice (LPC-MHSP, LCSW, LMFT, or psychologist)
Individual NPI and an accurate CAQH profile, or willingness to complete required credentialing information
Professional liability coverage maintained by the clinician
Strong documentation, communication, ethical judgment, and care-coordination skills
Ability to comply with payer, HIPAA, recordkeeping, and timely-billing requirements
Commitment to culturally responsive and affirming mental healthcare
Preferred, not required
Existing insurance-panel participation
A specialty or defined population focus
Comfort with hybrid care
An established referral network
These are preferences, not requirements. We encourage qualified clinicians with a range of backgrounds to apply.
Compensation and relationship
Independent contractor (1099)
The clinician receives 60% of amounts actually collected for their professional services. True U retains 40% to support office space, billing, EHR, administrative infrastructure, credentialing support, and practice marketing.
This is not a salary or guaranteed-income position; referrals and collections vary. This is a nonexclusive contractor relationship, and clinicians may maintain other professional work.
How to apply
Email a résumé or CV and a brief note describing your clinical specialties, preferred client population, desired weekly availability, and target start date.
