Hello everyone! My name is Lexie and I am an A/LPC-MHSP supervised by Carla Babb Ed.S., ACS, LPC-MHSP #1950. I see clients at Cypress Counseling Group in Brentwood, TN. I’m posting today to share about a group I am starting this October! The group is called The In-Between: A Group for 20 Somethings Navigating Life After College. It’s for the young adult who is feeling in between the structure of student life and the uncertainty of adulthood.
The heart behind starting this group comes from my own experience navigating the transition from college and into the “real world,” as well as my work primarily with 20-somethings. I love supporting young adults (and young adult couples!) as they navigate a decade filled with some of life’s biggest transitions. Dr. Meg Jay’s work has also been a big source of inspiration for me, and one of my favorite books is her book The Defining Decade. It’s been a great resource for developing some of the material in the group, as well as my overall work with 20 something year olds.
This will be both an educational and processing group, with a focus on practical tools, self-exploration, and building community with other 20-somethings navigating a similar phase of life.
