Are you a compassionate, trauma-informed therapist who believes children and adolescents can heal
through connection, creativity, and meaningful experiences beyond the traditional therapy office?
Stable Space – Trauma and Equine Therapy is seeking a licensed child and adolescent therapist to
join our collaborative, nature-based practice in Lyles, Tennessee. This is an opportunity to build an
independent clinical practice while working in a peaceful farm setting where horses, open space, and
therapeutic relationships create room for growth.
Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time therapist with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position, if desired.
As an affiliated independent clinician, you will maintain autonomy over your caseload, schedule, and
clinical work while benefiting from the support, referrals, resources, and collaborative environment of
an established trauma-focused and equine-assisted psychotherapy practice.
You’ll have the opportunity to provide traditional therapy and, when clinically appropriate,
incorporate equine-assisted and outdoor therapeutic experiences into your work with children and
adolescents.
Why Stable Space?
At Stable Space, therapy can look different from one session to the next. A conversation may begin in
a quiet office, continue along a farm path, or unfold through a carefully supported interaction with a
horse.
Our farm-based setting offers children and teens opportunities to practice trust, emotional regulation,
communication, boundaries, and confidence in ways that feel active, natural, and meaningful. For the
right therapist, this environment provides a rare opportunity to bring creativity and experiential care
into clinical practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Minimum Tennessee licensure: LPC-MHSP.
• Experience treating children and adolescents.
• Trauma-informed clinical background required.
• Knowledge of and comfort working with and around horses.
• Genuine interest in outdoor, farm-based, and experiential therapy.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with other clinicians.
• Individual professional licensure and malpractice insurance required.
What We Offer
• Flexible part-time scheduling with the opportunity to grow into full-time.
• Freedom to develop and manage your own caseload.
• Independent practice structure with the support of an established therapy business.
• A peaceful, private farm setting for traditional and equine-assisted psychotherapy.
• Access to horses and necessary equipment.
• Professional collaboration, referrals, and support from other trauma-focused therapists.
• Opportunities to develop specialized services for children and adolescents.
• A meaningful setting where clinical work can be creative, active, and deeply connected to the natural
world.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a therapist who is passionate about helping children and teenagers navigate
emotional challenges, process trauma, strengthen relationships, and discover their own capacity for
healing.
The ideal candidate is warm, curious, dependable, and comfortable meeting young people where
they are. You understand that therapy does not always need to happen behind a desk, and you’re
excited by the possibility of using relationships with horses and the farm environment to support
therapeutic growth.
Whether you already have experience with equine-assisted psychotherapy or are eager to deepen
your skills in this area, we’d love to connect with you.
If you’re passionate about helping young people heal – and excited by the possibility of doing that
work alongside horses and in the outdoors – we’d love to hear from you!
