Licensed Professional Counselor Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor to provide on-site supervision and clinical services in an Intensive Outpatient Program. This part-time position requires 20 hours per week of on-site presence.
Essential Requirements
Licensure and Professional Qualifications
Required: Current, active Tennessee licensure as one of the following:
Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC/MHSP)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Must be authorized to provide the same scope of services offered by our clinical setting
Experience and Skills
Experience in clinical mental health counseling and supervision preferred
Knowledge of DSM diagnostic criteria and treatment of mental health disorders
Understanding of Tennessee licensing requirements and clinical setting regulations
Proficient in documenting clinical information in an Electronic Medical Record
Excellent communication and consultation abilities
Core Responsibilities
Supervision and Consultation
Provide on-site supervision and consultation services to masters level interns and post-masters clinicians.
Be available for immediate consultation during counseling sessions and related services
Support intern professional development and clinical skill building
Ensure compliance with all Tennessee Board regulations and ethical standards
Emergency Response and Crisis Management
Implement and maintain written emergency plans including supervisor contact methods
Serve as primary or backup contact for crisis situations
Coordinate with crisis services, suicide prevention resources, and emergency contacts as needed
Ensure availability for consultation when interns are providing services
Administrative and Compliance Functions
Ensure clinical setting maintains adequate physical resources including private counseling spaces
Oversee secure record storage and HIPAA compliance
Support administrative resources necessary for program operation
Assist with written agreements outlining supervision arrangements and responsibilities
Work Schedule and Environment
