Neighborhood Health has an opening for a Behavioral Health Consultant in Nashville TN. Licensure as a LPC-MHSP or LCSW is required. We are looking for a therapist with a passion for serving the underserved and upholding our mission.

We provide care to uninsured, underinsured, and insured patients across the lifespan. Our services include primary care, women’s health, pediatric care, dental services, and integrated mental and behavioral health consult with short-term support.

Responsibilities:
• Through patient evaluation and assessment, determine a diagnosis/differential diagnosis and plan for intervention
• Provide short-term brief therapy to patients in need of support
• Evaluate crisis situations (with support from local crisis center) and apply appropriate interventions
o Be immediately available during working hours in the event of a BH emergency
• Consult with medical staff to enhance case conceptualization and assist in the implementation and monitoring of treatment plans
• Seek consultation as appropriate
• Refer patients for further care and services within the organization and/or the community
• Complete documentation within a timely manner (typically 1-2 business days): includes assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and billing
• Maintain a customer-oriented approach to meeting patient needs in an expedient manner, involving the family in the plan of care as appropriate
• Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy
• Facilitate the process of ethical decision making as appropriate
• Identify system specific problems, which require evaluation and/or change; work with appropriate staff to resolve these issues by participating in performance improvement processes
• Take an active role to contribute to the improvement of quality and services delivered

Requirements:
• Clinical licensure of LCSW or LPC/MHSP in the state of TN
• Two or more years of experience preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally with patients, care teams, families, and other staff
• Ability to function independently with regards to most clinical decision making
• Well versed in evidence based behavioral health assessment and treatment modalities
• Ability and willingness to apply evidence-based interventions to accommodate a fast-paced setting i.e. ability to provide brief, skills-based, interventions (15-30 minutes)
