Dissociation refers to the disruption of the usually integrated functions of consciousness, perception, memory, identity, and emotional response. Over the last three decades, there has been notable advancement in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of dissociative disorders. This progress can be attributed to several factors: increased clinical awareness of these conditions, a wealth of research and scholarly publications, and the creation of specialized diagnostic tools. Moreover, peer-reviewed literature on dissociative disorders has emerged globally, with input from clinicians and researchers in at least 26 countries. Findings from these publications consistently support the validity of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) as a reliable cross-cultural diagnosis, demonstrating a level of validity that is comparable to, or even surpasses, that of other widely accepted psychiatric diagnoses (Gleaves, May, & Cardeña, 2001).

This training is provided to help those who would like to work with this population, as well as those who simply would like to know more about the condition. The training will be conducted in person and live virtually for 3 CEUs. (For questions, I can be reached at cindagee.anucounseling.com)
